Our Pillars
SISTERHOOD
Tau Beta Sigma encourages each member to foster relationships within our organization. One of the biggest ways Eta Lambda strives to achieve this is through our families, sisterhood events like 19218 Sisterhood retreat, and serving together!
SERVICE
Our chapter serves the marching blazers, UAB Bands, and the Birmingham community in many ways. On game days, we pass out plumes, distribute snacks and meals, along with band uniform maintenance. We also work on our national Focus on Five campaign promoting musicianship for all. Through COVID we have still been able to serve our community by making valentine’s day cards, hosting a sock drive for local homeless shelters, and much more!
leadership
Tau Beta Sigma encourages our members to grow as leaders both in and out of our chapter! Our sisters serve in leadership positions throughout campus and the Birmingham community. Additionally, our chapter is student led and offers potential leadership opportunities that help you grow to be a strong leader.
MUSICIANSHIP
A majority of our sisters are members of the Marching Blazers while others are a part of ensembles including Symphony Band, Wind Symphony, Blazer Band, Jazz Band, and many others! We encourage our members to practice and become better musicians through initiatives like For Greater Practice Program. This specific program is designed to give sisters better practicing habits in addition to a deeper musical approach to our service. Our chapter has also hosted events such as “Juries in Jammies” to help those that are preparing for Juries.
